The Comtes de Méan private hotel
At no. 11, mont Saint-Martin, the Comtes de Méan private hotel has often had its history confused with that of its neighbour, the Sélys Longchamps hotel.
It is a U-shaped building, whose architecture is based on a central nucleus, dating from the 15th century, which has gradually grown and been transformed to different eras.
The most noteworthy features that remain are part of the South-facing façade. This façade in brick and limestone bears the date 1620, the year in which it was enlarged.
The roadside façade incorporates two lateral main buildings, enlivened with slitted pillars, in an eclectic style. Inside, the building has undergone various works, including the building of a remarkable ballroom in neo-classical décor.
