Sustainable development

Witness to a glorious history and a remarkable heritage, the CrownePlaza Liège “Les Comtes de Méan” is also a modern hotel complex that is both anchored in its era and with an eye on the future.

Since it was designed, it has been voluntarily joined with the philosophy of sustainable development, especially with regard to the rational use of energy.

Among the solutions implemented, we can cite in particular:
  • the optimum insulation of buildings’ shells and re-insulation on the inside of the listed parts in order to preserve the beauty of their exteriors;
  • use of gas, at the optimum energy/CO2 ratio, both for cooking, heating and domestic hot water production, with use of modulating condensing boilers;
  • an energy-recovery heating and air-conditioning system;
  • a dual flow ventilation with high-performance recovery;
  • a separate water distribution system for WCs, urinals and basin taps with subsurface pumping, filtering and storage;
  • a lighting design aimed at warmth and economy: natural light whenever possible, economic lamps and electronic ballasts, intelligent management system for the entire building, rooms with card system that cuts lighting and heating / air-conditioning when they are not occupied.
The choice of finishing materials, use of environmentally responsible suppliers and procedures for the commercial operation of the hotel complex are also part of this transversal concern to preserve and respect the environment.
